Unsolved Strangers
There were few words
In the crossword puzzle
We had begun
On a Sunday morning-
And left scattered
On a circumstantial sofa.
On a morning of
Pretending we knew
Each other- and
Had been a “couple” before
Despite the obvious clues
On a morning
When we had woken
Side by side
In a circumstantial bed
And riveted ourselves
To an unlocked window-
Wondering how
This all began.
