PRESS RELEASE- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- APRIL 4, 2006
(Miramar,
FL) Poet ANASTASIA CLARK will do a poetry reading as a guest of Miramar High School- as
part of its National Poetry Month celebration. The event will take place on
April 5, 2006 from 3:15 until 5:00pm in the school Media Center.
The principal, faculty members and students will also be reading poetry. Light
refreshments will be served. The school is located at 3601 SW 89th St. Miramar,
FL. Tel: 754-323-1350. Patricia Hammond, English Dept Head, is the
coordinator.
Clark will be reading from a
variety of her books published by Sun Rising Poetry Press, including Grieving
With Poetry- poems written after the death of her parents,
Bloodsongs- poetry about women’s issues, Skeletons
and Other Complaints- poetry about life’s challenges, Vagabond
Pond- poems about feeling lost, and Electric Petticoats-
poetry celebrating the spicier side of life.
Books will be available and autograph requests will be welcome.
Clark (Moore)
grew up in Framingham, MA, where she served as Poet-In-Residence to the Framingham Public Schools during 1977-78. She
served in the U. S. Marine Corps and also completed a Master of Science in
Administration. She currently resides in Miramar, FL (Broward County).
Her work has appeared in numerous
literary magazines and her poem “Old Volcanoes,” was nominated for the Pushcart
Prize. During 2001-2003 Clark served as
Poetry Editor and Poetry Columnist for Epiphany Magazine: a celebration in writing.
In addition to the full-length titles
listed above, Clark is also the author of the POETRY
PETALS collection- themed booklets designed for gift and floral baskets.
Titles include Healing Poems, Inspirational Poems, Romantic Poems, Nostalgic Poems and
Humorous
Poems.
