Tanzanite, tourmaline.

A lifetime of lightning

In brilliant swirls,

Polished and proud,

A diary of pearls.

The private collection

Of courage and grace,

Strung on a necklace,

To remember your place.

A mother’s long journey

Encrypted in stones;

Yellow and red,

Are the strongest of bones.

So these are the beads

That you leave for me:

The warrior charms

Of your bravery.
